AFTER A STORM
When either a high wind event or heavy snow event happens to you. The following things need to be on your checklist of Things To Do!
SNOW / ICE EVENT -
- Ensure snow is removed from the top of the structure, you can do this by maintaining heat inside of the structure.
- Ensure all doorways are free and clear of snow and ice.
- Avoid large quantities of “Salt for ice melting” that will sit on or under the side wall ground flap. This will destroy the PVC vinyl fabric.
RAIN EVENT -
- Rain event – make sure tops remained tensioned and there is no “ponding of water” on the structure top. If there is, push the water off from the inside and re-tension your fabric. Water sitting on fabric is like a magnifying glass on the fabric and it will ruin the fabric if left there.
WIND EVENT –
- Spring storms can have damaging winds and checking on the structure during or after an event is critical for proper maintenance.
